Veteran Motorsports Tuning Consultant Justin Elkes Launches Modern Racing

Justin Elkes

Justin Elkes has always been ahead of the curve. From his early work at Wilson Manifolds developing cutting edge components to becoming the youngest crew chief in the NHRA Pro Stock pits, Elkes remains at the forefront when it comes to the development and application of new motorsports technology.

To better serve a growing client base across all forms of motorsports, Elkes has launched Modern Racing. Located in Mooresville, NC, known as “Race City USA,” Modern Racing was created with the mission to be the best source for purchasing high-quality electronics and data acquisition components made by Racepak, MoTeC, and more. By also offering tuning, consulting, data acquisition analysis, wiring, fabrication, machining, and complete racing operation housing and management, Modern Racing is a one-stop-shop.

“Not only is Modern Racing a Racepak Elite Dealer and a MoTeC supplier, which allows us to offer competitive pricing, but it’s also the best place to buy these components because of the expertise we have with using and applying them,” stated Elkes. “In addition to our own custom creations, we’re even involved in the design and development of several new products from some of these companies. From drag racing to fast street cars to karting and more, Modern Racing is able to identify the best component for an application, ship it or install it, and support it remotely or in-person at the track. We offer it all under one roof.

“My expertise has always been electronics and data acquisition, and the practical application of the tools that are available,” Elkes continued. “I’m able to bring everything together and teach racers and teams how to use the tools available to them and interpret their data, which is at the core of today’s ultra-competitive motorsports.”

While Modern Racing was originally formed in 2006 as a solo venture, the growth of Elkes’ business has made expansion necessary. Elkes and his team recently moved into a new facility in the racing-heavy Lakeside Business Park in Mooresville. The location will feature multiple bays for wiring, tuning, and setup, as well as a retail counter and showroom. Modern Racing has also launched an all-new website and online store.

“We’re very excited about our new facility and website, and the capabilities they offer,” said the South Florida native. “Our approach will allow us to serve our customers both locally and remotely. We have the space, equipment, and staff to serve our customers in-house, and a fully-functional online store to serve those looking for the latest motorsports electronics components, no matter where they’re located.”
Check out Modern Racing at www.modernracing.net and on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, stop by the new facility at 176-E Knob Hill Road in Mooresville, or call (704) 576-7337 for more information.
