The Hedman Husler Hedders DragRacingOnline.com AA/FC Challenge will be featured at the Funny Car Nationals to be held Sept. 5-6, at historic U.S. 131 Motorsports Park in Martin, MI.
Going into this event, Shawn Bowen (above), in his “Violator” Pontiac Firebird, is leading the points and looking for his third series championship.

Bowen, from Grand Blanc, MI, won the first three DRO AA/FC Challenge events of the year, but finished in the runner-up position to Mark “Mr. Explosive” Sanders from Maple Valley, WA, at the World Series of Drag Racing Aug. 23, at Cordova (IL) Dragway Park.
Among other drivers at US 131 will be two-time series champion Paul Romine driving the “Man O’ War” Mustang, Bazz Young in the “Down-Under Thunder” Camaro, and the Candies Family Racing’s “Candies & Hughes” tribute car.
There will be two complete rounds of qualifying for the AA Funny Cars in Martin on Friday night at 7 and 9 p.m. Final eliminations will be held Saturday evening beginning at 5 p.m. Other classes include Nostalgia Alcohol Funny Cars, Old Time Nitro Fuel Altereds, Gassers, and Lane Automotive Bracket Series cars. The next event on the Hedman Husler Hedders DragRacingOnline.com AA/FC Challenge is Sept. 19-20 at Osage Casino Tulsa Raceway Park in Tulsa, OK, where the the 2014 champion will be crowned. New to the series this year is a special season-ending event Oct. 3-4, at North Carolina’s Rockingham Dragway.
