Team Kalitta, Summit Motorsports Park Partners with Cedar Point for NHRA Day

Team Kalitta, in conjunction with Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park and the NHRA, is pleased to announce a partnership with Cedar Point for the NHRA Day at Cedar Point which will take place on Thursday, June 23rd, prior to the Summit Racing Equipment Nationals. Fans can meet some of Team Kalitta’s family of drivers with special guests and experience the theme park which boasts the world’s largest assortment of rides. Fans of the Cleveland-area park often dub it ‘The Roller Coaster Capital of the World.’

“It is perfect to not only spend time with the fans, but our families in the middle of the fast-pace NHRA summer schedule,” said Doug Kalitta, who won the series’ most recent race in Houston. “I am excited to experience all that Cedar Point has to offer prior to the Norwalk race weekend.”

Three of Kalitta Motorsports’ drivers, Alexis DeJoria, Doug Kalitta, and J.R. Todd, in addition to Top Fuel driver Richie Crampton, defending Pro Stock champion Erica Enders and Pro Stock Motorcycle riders Hector Arana and Hector Arana Jr. are scheduled to sign autographs from 10:30am to noon in front of the Top Thrill Dragster roller coaster. In addition, Kalitta’s Mac Tools and Todd’s SealMaster Top Fuel dragsters will be displayed as you enter the park.

“We know that race fans love coming to North Central Ohio to see the excitement of NHRA action at Summit Motorsports Park,” said Tony Clark, Cedar Point’s director of communications. “Bringing Team Kalitta’s drivers to Cedar Point will give them the chance to get up close with their favorites – but they can also experience the sensation of the race going from 0-120 mph on Top Thrill Dragster!”

“The idea of bringing roller coasters and race cars together for a fun-filled day at Cedar Point is an exciting opportunity for everyone involved, especially the fans!” said Bill Bader, president of Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park. “A special thank you to Kalitta Motorsports, the architect that made this all possible.”
