Head Racing Announces TaylorMade Sponsorship for Pomona

TaylorMade Golf, the company that delivers distance through speed, will sponsor the Head Inc. Toyota Funny Car team for the running of the 55th annual Circle K NHRA Winternationals at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona Feb. 5-8.

The sponsorship will reinforce the recent introduction of the company’s newest metalwood, the AeroBurner driver, which like the sport of NHRA, delivers straight speed performance in the fastest, most aerodynamic driver in company history.

“We are excited about the opportunity to showcase the TaylorMade AeroBurner on our Toyota Funny Car and can’t think of a better parallel between the AeroBurner product attributes and the sport of NHRA,” said driver Chad Head. “This is a great chance for TaylorMade to introduce AeroBurner to the NHRA fan base both in Pomona and on the ESPN2 broadcast.”

For golfers, the state-of-the-art AeroBurner driver features an advanced aerodynamic shape designed with a rounder toe, raised center crown, and new hosel fin to deliver maximum distance, and its new and improved Speed Pocket increases the size of the sweet spot and reduces spin.

“We are excited to be partnering with Head Racing as part of the release of the new AeroBurner driver,” said Nick Robbie, director of marketing at TaylorMade Golf. “We want golfers to know that the AeroBurner driver delivers unparalleled speed that leads to substantial distance. The AeroBurner Funny Car will be a thundering example that reinforces Made of Speed.”

As part of the sponsorship for the weekend, Head Racing will make an appearance at TaylorMade’s headquarters in Carlsbad, Calif., to unveil the car design for the company’s employees and invited media guests.
