Edwards Runs First 3-Second Pass on Drag Radials at Huntsville

The race to the threes is over. In the final round of RadialFest 2K14 at Alabama’s historic Huntsville Dragway, Brad Edwards flashed across the stripe in 3.990 seconds at 193.47 mph to make him the first radial tire racer to dip into the coveted three-second zone.

Meanwhile, beside him Jamie Hancock, who had been engaged in a show of speed with Edwards all weekend long, ripped off a stellar .996 60-foot time in the left lane, but then abruptly knocked the tires loose just past the 60-foot cones, sending him into a spin ending nose first into the opposite wall behind Edwards.
