Dillard Dominates Day One of Pro Mod Qualifying at SCSN

Eric Dillard (above, 4th from left) steered Jose Gonzalez’s “El General” twin-turbocharged ’69 Camaro to the top of a list of 30 entries Nov. 20, in the opening round of Outlaw Pro Mod qualifying for the Street Car Super Nationals (SCSN) at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Dillard, co-owner of Pro Line Racing in Ball Ground, GA, ran an impressive 5.587 seconds at 264.91 mph over the Vegas quarter mile, followed by Pro Line customer Turky Al Zafari (above, 5th from left) in second place with a 5.660 run at a class-leading 270.64 mph in another ’69 Camaro.

In third was West Cost racer Mike Maggio at 5.695 and 259.21 with his blown BAE-equipped ’68 Camaro, followed by Australia’s Paul Mouhayet in yet another ’69 Camaro, with Troy Coughlin rounding out the top five in his 2012 Corvette.
