DI PLAYLIST: Alexis DeJoria

NHRA Funny Car pilot Alexis DeJoria listens to a wide variety of music genres and artists, but the four-time Funny Car winner relies on this hip-hop-heavy playlist to help get her mind right for a sub-3.9-second pass in her Tequila Patrón Toyota Camry fuel coupe. From the Eminem mega-hit “Till I Collapse” to the heavy guitar riffs of “Closure” by Texas Hippie Coalition, this playlist is guaranteed to elicit excitement.

Speaking with DRAG ILLUSTRATED between rounds at the Chevrolet Performance NHRA U.S. Nationals, a race she won in 2014, DeJoria shared with us some of her favorite songs to listen to on race day.

“These songs get me hyped,” DeJoria said. “They get me in that mode of wanting to fight, wanting to do battle, wanting to win. They just make me want to go up there and kick ass. When I listen to them, I get really stoked and in that good head-space where I feel like I can’t be touched.”
