American Racing Wheels Extends Backing of T. Pedregon

TPedregon-rendering640Two-time NHRA Mello Yello Funny Car champion Tony Pedregon and American Racing Wheels have extended their partnership through 2015 to compete in the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series.

The American Racing Custom Wheels Funny Car will once again debut this weekend at the historic Circle K NHRA Winternationals this weekend. The new livery will feature a candy apple red paint scheme with a vintage flavor.

“Our team is better prepared to start the season than we have been in some time,” said Pedregon. “The relationship with American Racing Wheels and our other partners have placed us in a position that we expect better performance on track, as well as providing a great platform to showcase American Racing Wheels to the passionate NHRA audience.”

The Winternationals will be the first of seven events on the circuit that will feature the American Racing Wheels branding as primary sponsor on Pedregon’s Toyota.

“American Racing started out by making wheels for drag racing and it’s where our heritage and history are in the sport,” said American Racing Marketing Director Rhett Sander. “I remember as a kid watching ‘Flaming Frank’ Pedregon race at Lions Drag Strip on American Racing Wheels, so it just seems like a natural progression to team up and continue growing our relationship with Tony.”

This season marks Pedregon’s 21st year in pro competition. He won NHRA championships in 2003 and 2007 and currently has 507 round-wins.
