No matter what happens at the In-N-Out Burger NHRA Finals this weekend, Pro Stock Motorcycle pilot Chris Bostick will finish the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season in the Top Ten for the first time in his career. Knowing that his position as one of the best performers in the sport is locked in, he’s ready for a fun-filled time at historic In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip. The fan-favorite rider also reached a new career-best elapsed time earlier this year in Sonoma when he powered The Surf Signature RV Resort Suzuki to a 6.777-second run.
Bostick is quick to note that his recent achievements were only possible with the support of his team. Chris Parker and Rick Elmore have been instrumental in Bostick’s operation, along with Bostick’s better half, Teri, who has been by his side at each event. This year, Bostick teamed up with crew chief Tim Kulungian at White Alligator Racing, providing him with additional resources in the form of Keith Nichols and Bruce Van Sant, who are always ready to lend a hand in any direction needed. He’s eager to close out the season on a positive note with the support of his team and his sponsor, The Surf Signature RV Resort.
“Any year you get to spend drag racing, is a pretty great year,” said Bostick. “Finishing in the Top Ten is nothing to sneeze at, especially when there are so many talented drivers and tuners in the category. Pro Stock Motorcycle is really exciting right now and I’ve been honored to be a part of it. I don’t think there are words to adequately express how much I appreciate everyone who’s been on this journey with me this season. We’ve gained new fans and a lot of useful knowledge. Everyone out here is so resourceful and it’s inspiring to be surrounded by people who are at the top of their game. I hope we can expand our sponsor relationships so we can continue growing and innovating.”
Bostick became the first driver in Pro Stock Motorcycle to utilize a parachute in the shutdown area. It’s a move that fans have enjoyed seeing and his fellow drivers have been watching him closely to learn how the parachute works on these machines. Bostick and Kulungian have been gathering data on this implementation to share with NHRA.
Competition in the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series will feature two qualifying rounds at 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Friday, November 15.
