Wes Buck, founder of Drag Illustrated and the creator of the World Series of Pro Mod, today revealed plans for a high-impact Pro Mod trading card program geared toward amplifying fan engagement and ushering in a new era of collectors. Slated for release later this year, the inaugural collection will spotlight the world-class talent and intense on-track drama that defines the biggest, richest Pro Mod drag race in the history of the known universe.
A Next-Level Fan Experience
“We’ve seen how trading cards deepen fan engagement across motorsports,” said Buck. “Fans want the heroes, the behind-the-scenes stories, and that genuine interactive hobby experience. We’re leaning into all the trends—autograph cards, short-print chase cards, special parallels—anything that lets fans step closer to the action and become a part of the Pro Mod community.”
The initial launch will showcase past WSOPM champions, including Mike Bowman (2017), Carl Stevens Jr. (2018), Scotty Oksas (2019), Spencer Hyde (2023), Derek Ward (2024), and Steve King (2025), along with unique chase elements to keep collectors on the hunt. Additional expansions are in the pipeline to spotlight rising stars, backstage perspectives, and the memorable highlights that define the can’t-miss experience that is the Drag Illustrated World Series of Pro Mod.

Built to Thrive and Grow
Buck envisions the trading card line evolving each year, offering fresh designs, new driver highlights, and an ever-expanding roster of behind-the-scenes personalities.
“We want this program to grow every year—to be the trading card collection fans look forward to. It’s not just about one-and-done,” he said. “Our production partner is working with us to build something that can stand alongside the best in motorsports. Ultimately, we want a hobby product that fosters new fans, unites current fans, and celebrates the spirit of drag racing and the people that make this community so special.”
Fueling the Next Generation
From collecting hero cards at the track to ripping open packs at home, Buck aims to harness the excitement of Pro Mod for an even broader audience, including younger fans who might be experiencing the thrill of drag racing for the first time. By creating compelling inserts, autographed memorabilia, and other interactive features, the trading card program will invite newcomers and seasoned enthusiasts alike to explore the sport in a more personal, hands-on way.
Coming in 2025
While final details regarding distribution are still under wraps, the first wave of the World Series of Pro Mod trading cards is expected to arrive later this year. Fans can anticipate retail availability online, at premier drag racing events, and through select hobby shops nationwide. Additional announcements, including product teases, final checklists, and limited-edition offerings, will roll out on Drag Illustrated platforms and social media channels in the months to come.
