Four-time world champion Donny Urban has announced his intentions to return to competition in 2026, with hopes of securing a fifth world title.
Urban is no stranger to success behind the wheel, with multiple world championships in bracket racing and the 2018 and 2023 PDRA Elite Top Sportsman world championships to his credit—where he bracket raced going 3.70s at nearly 200 mph. After announcing his retirement at the conclusion of the 2024 season, Urban transitioned into the role of car chief for Pro Nitrous competitor Tim Paap’s C7 Corvette.
Since joining Paap’s team during the Winter Series in Bradenton, Florida, Urban has enjoyed contributing to the nitrous-powered Corvette program. However, the veteran driver admits he has felt the pull to return to racing himself. Now, he is seeking an opportunity for the 2026 season, whether in Elite Top Sportsman or one of the professional categories.
“I’ll race for no winnings and will cover my entry and travel. I just want to race,” Urban said. “I can bring along some sponsors and funding too depending on the class.”
Teams or owners interested in having a proven champion behind the wheel are encouraged to contact Donny Urban directly at (919) 730-6555.
