The Vindys Announced as Concert Headliner at PRO Superstar Shootout

The Vindys, an in-demand band, is set to headline the PRO Superstar Shootout concert series at the inaugural SCAG Power Equipment PRO Superstar Shootout presented by Johnson’s Horsepowered Garage, Feb. 8-10, at Bradenton Motorsports Park, officials announced today.

The Vindys are set to take the stage on Saturday at the Scag Power Equipment PRO Superstar Shootout presented by JHG once racing has concluded. The Scag Power Equipment PRO Superstar Shootout presented by JHG is bringing an invited list of stars, like Steve Torrence, John Force and Erica Enders, in Top Fuel, Funny Car and Pro Stock to Bradenton Motorsports Park in Bradenton, Florida, to compete for more than $1.3 million.

The band’s dynamic sound is driven by the powerhouse talents of singer/songwriter/guitarist Jackie Popovec, whose vocal skill has been compared to Amy Winehouse by media outlets such as WKBN-TV (CBS) and The Beaver County Times.

Complementing Popovec’s talents are classically trained musicians John Anthony on lead guitar and Rick Deak on rhythm guitar.

The Vindys’ latest album to drop, “Bugs,” has been named the Album of The Year by The Repository. The record features a series of hit singles like the title track “Bugs,” mixed by Ryan West (Rihanna, Eminem, Jay-Z), and has been part of prominent campaigns like the Pittsburgh Pirates and AT&T Sports Net “Friday Night Rocks.”

The Vindys’ influence extends beyond their music. As a band rooted in Youngstown, OH, their name is a tribute to the local newspaper, The Vindicator. Brad Savage, program director of The Summit 91.3 FM (OH), describes the band as embodying “the spirit of Youngstown and northeast Ohio” with songs that are “instantly likable and unforgettable.”

The band’s journey has been marked by notable performances, including headlining Stage 3 at the Wonderstruck Music Festival alongside renowned acts like Portugal. The Man, and sharing the stage with artists like The Drive-By Truckers and Judah & the Lion. Their success at Summerfest 2019, where they won the first day of the Emerging Artist Series, is a testament to their growing popularity.
