For nearly seven decades, the March Meet has been one of drag racing’s most sacred traditions. This weekend, the thunder returned once again as the 68th Good Vibrations Motorsports March Meet roared to life at historic Famoso Dragstrip.

Under beautiful weather and ideal racing conditions, fans packed the historic quarter-mile to witness the latest chapter in one of nostalgia drag racing’s most iconic events. From the first launch of the day, the unmistakable sound and fury of high-horsepower machines echoed across the Bakersfield strip as racers went to work setting the stage for Sunday’s nitro eliminations.

The March Meet has long been more than just another race. It’s a celebration of drag racing’s roots — where legendary machinery, veteran drivers, and diehard fans gather every spring at Famoso to relive the sport’s golden era while writing new history at the same time.

Saturday’s action saw racers across the sportsman categories battle the famous Famoso surface in all-out eliminations, with drivers pushing hard through the rounds as they chased one of the most coveted trophies in nostalgia drag racing.

With the stands full and the atmosphere buzzing throughout the facility, the energy around the track served as another reminder of why the March Meet continues to stand as one of the sport’s premier nostalgia events.

But the biggest battles are still ahead.

Nitro eliminations begin Sunday at 9 a.m., when drivers return to the famed Famoso quarter-mile chasing March Meet glory and the chance to add their names to one of drag racing’s most historic winner’s lists.
