Texas Motorplex is kicking off its 40th anniversary with a bang. On Tuesday, July 8, the iconic Ennis-based dragstrip will unveil major plans tied to its historic milestone, including a brand-new 40th anniversary logo, details surrounding the 2025 Stampede of Speed, and the announcement of the next class of Texas Motorplex Legends.
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., attendees will get a glimpse into what promises to be one of the biggest seasons in the track’s storied history. With exciting updates surrounding the 10-day Stampede of Speed—set for October 3-12—fans can expect new experiences, returning favorites, and even more reasons to celebrate motorsports in Texas.
Among the headline announcements:
- Introduction of the 2025 Texas Motorplex Legends
- Unveiling of the 40th Anniversary logo.
- New attractions and updates to the Stampede of Speed, including fan-favorite events like the Stars of Texas Music Festival, Champions’ Dinner, Fan Fest, and more.
“The Texas Motorplex’s 40th anniversary is an exciting time not just for my family and the drag racing community, but for the state of Texas at large,” said Christie Meyer Johnson, co-owner of Texas Motorplex. “Our Stampede of Speed event is packed with unforgettable moments for the whole family and celebrates everything that makes Texas.”
The 2025 Stampede of Speed will feature a weeklong lineup of entertainment, including a country music festival with headliners Pat Green, Chris Young, and Clint Black, as well as a lantern release, BBQ cook-off, bull riding, beer expo, cornhole tournament, and the 40th running of the NHRA Texas Fall Nationals, October 9-12.
Also planned for July 8 is a live Funny Car burnout on the historic all-concrete track, a showcase of signature food items for 2025, and beer tastings from Union Bear Brewing, with lunch served by legendary pitmaster Jamie “Jambo” Geer.
