Season 2 of Talkin’ Funny Cars with Buddy Hull continues tonight with an all-new episode featuring one of drag racing’s brightest rising stars, Funny Car rookie Spencer Hyde. The episode premieres Wednesday, September 24, at 8 p.m. ET and 8 p.m. PT on the NHRA FAST Channel.
Hyde, who drives for Head Racing, has quickly made waves in his first season behind the wheel of a Funny Car. A Canadian native and the current frontrunner for the prestigious NHRA Rookie of the Year Award, Hyde has earned attention for his fearless transition from Pro Mod to the high-horsepower world of Funny Cars.

“Spencer has been turning heads all season, and this episode really shows the drive, determination and personality that make him such a great fit in Funny Car,” said Hull, the host of Talkin’ Funny Cars. “He’s not just fast, he’s reflective, and fans are going to love getting to know him better.”
In this episode, Hull sits down with Hyde to talk about his move from Pro Mod racing to Funny Car competition, the thrill of driving the “Jack in the Green Stock” car this season, the importance of his family and support system and what it means to be the only Canadian racing in the NHRA professional ranks.
“This season has been a dream come true, and I’m honored to be part of the Funny Car family,” said Hyde. “Talking with Buddy gave me a chance to share what this year has really been like, from the challenges to the big moments, and I’m excited for fans to see it.”
Fans can catch the conversation premiere on the NHRA FAST Channel, available free on 13 platforms including The Roku Channel (USA & Canada), Tubi, Samsung TV Plus, Sling Freestream and others. After the show initially airs, it will be added to the Talkin’ Funny Cars with Buddy Hull YouTube channel.
Every Wednesday throughout the rest of the 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season, a new episode of Talkin’ Funny Cars with Buddy Hull will air at 8 p.m. EST and 8 p.m. PST. Future guests will include Jim Dunn, Jeff Diehl, Alexis DeJoria, Tim Wilkerson, Mike Neff and more.
