Stroud Safety Named Official Safety Solution of the Drag Illustrated Winter Series

Stroud Safety has been named the official safety solution of the Drag Illustrated Winter Series presented by J&A Service, race officials announced today. This partnership underscores a shared commitment to safety and performance across the three-race series at Bradenton Motorsports Park, including the Snowbird Outlaw Nationals, U.S. Street Nationals and Winter Series Finale.

“This series puts us on one of the most visible stages in drag racing. All eyes are going to be on Bradenton during the winter months,” said Tommy Cunningham, owner of Stroud Safety. “Winter is also a time when our customers are looking to put their safety upgrades in and doing their research on what’s new in the market.”

“Aligning with the fastest and most notorious Pro Mod race in the world and along with the best drivers using the best safety equipment gives us a major opportunity to be a part of an event of this magnitude,” said John Gentry, Stroud Sales Manager. “Everyone’s worried about being fast, but we’ve got to slow these guys down at the same time. That’s where we come in – our priority is to keep them safe while they’re accelerating and then going through the decelerating process.”

Wes Buck, founder and editorial director of Drag Illustrated and promoter of the Winter Series, highlighted the importance of having Stroud Safety on board for all three events, beginning December 6-8 with the historic Snowbird Outlaw Nationals presented by Motion Raceworks, continuing with the U.S. Street Nationals presented by M&M Transmission on Jan. 24-26, 2025, and concluding with the World Series of Pro Mod on Feb. 27 to March 1, 2025.

“Stroud Safety is synonymous with excellence in motorsport safety,” said Buck. “Their innovative approach and deep roots in the racing community make them a perfect partner for the Drag Illustrated Winter Series. Knowing that racers competing in this series will have access to Stroud’s trusted safety solutions only strengthens our commitment to delivering world-class events.”

Since its founding in 1989 by Bob Stroud, Stroud Safety has set the standard in drag racing safety innovation with products like parachutes and harnesses that racers trust. Under Tommy Cunningham’s ownership since 2019, Stroud has continued to combine decades of expertise with forward-thinking technologies, maintaining its mantra: “designed by racers, for racers.”

“We’re constantly doing research and development,” said Cunningham, who pilots a supercharged ’67 Shelby Mustang. “This whole season, I have been developing a lighter-weight chute, which will be available in the coming weeks.”

The DI Winter Series presented by J&A Service brings together the best drivers, fastest cars, and fiercest competitors in outlaw drag racing. With its focus on providing an unforgettable racing experience, the series has quickly become a premier destination for racers and fans alike.

Stroud will have a support trailer on the property for the U.S. Street Nationals and the World Series of Pro Mod. Cunningham and Gentry reassured racers that if they need something during the Snowbird Outlaw Nationals, Stroud is available to ship the items straight to Bradenton Motorsports Park.
