Stevenson Family Duo Stacks Trophies at Santa Pod’s National Finals

It was a championship family double for a UK-based family, as Luke and Lily Stevenson left Santa Pod Raceway’s National Finals both champions of their class.

Luke, 44, won his first national championship after 18 years of racing and coming in runner-up twice before. He also went on to win the National Finals event in VWDRC Pro and ran a new personal best (for this car) of 11.46 at 121 mph.

The plan is now to up the power in the Mk5 Golf with some winter upgrades and prepare to defend the title in 2026, while building a new 6-cylinder turbo rail for 2027.

Lily, 20, took home the treble in her Mk1 Audi TT in the Sportsman class of the VWDRC after bowing out of competition in round two of the National Finals going red on the tree. But not before she was crowned 2025 champion in her first season of racing and running a PB of 13.51 at 100 mph.

Lily also secured the coveted VWDRC Rookie of the Year title and the Most Consistent Qualifier award with another No.1 qualifying place again. Fun fact: apart from the two red-light losses during the season, Lily is undefeated, never losing a green light bracket race.

Never before in the VWDRC have two family members won both championships simultaneously, and with Lily’s younger sister turning 16 next month, she is eyeing up a seat next year to make it a Stevenson trio in the near future.
