Staging Lanes: Primed for Primetime

Anita Cunningham waits for the signal to squirt some fuel into the injector hat on the screw-blown Stroud Safety “Rent-A-Racer” ‘67 Mustang driven by her husband, Tommy Cunningham, during the final qualifying session at the Drag Illustrated World Series of Pro Mod presented by Johnson’s Horsepowered Garage and J&A Service. In addition to serving as one of the main crew members on the Pro Mod, Anita works with Tommy in the family businesses, which includes Stroud Safety. Though Cunningham threw down a solid 3.671-second pass here, he came up just a few spots short of making the record-setting WSOPM field.
