Fresh off an outing at the Ford Performance NHRA Nationals in Las Vegas where part-time NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series Funny Car competitor Jason Rupert drew attention by lowering his career-best elapsed time twice in an effort that qualified No. 12 in the largest turnout of the season and staged a close contest with frontrunner Bob Tasca III during final eliminations, Rupert will close the season at his home track of In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip flying the colors of Shell Roofing Solutions Group on his 11,000-horsepower Ford Mustang.
Shell Roofing Solutions Group has been an associate sponsor for Rupert Motorsports for the past three seasons and has had a presence at other motorsports events such as the Long Beach Grand Prix and stock car racing at Irwindale Speedway. This marks the first occasion that they will be recognized as the primary sponsor in the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series.
“We appreciate the support that Shell Roofing Solutions Group has given us the past few years and feel privileged to carry their company’s colors at such a big event,” said Rupert. “We have worked hard to make improvements on the track and in the pits. Our values align with those of Shell Roofing Solutions Group, and we will give it our all to reward their faith in our program with a strong performance.
“It’s been a heck of a season. We got our first round-win at the NHRA Las Vegas Four-Wide Nationals, and the car has gotten better with every opportunity that Rahn Tobler has had a chance to tune it. We ran a 3.98 in Sonoma that was a career-best at the time, and then we made three three-second runs in Las Vegas – 3.99, 3.95, and 3.94. It’s a lot of fun when the car is being responsive to the changes being made.”
Shell Roofing Solutions Group headlines a lineup of Rupert Motorsports supporters that also includes Lucas Oil, J.S. Easterday Construction, CP-Carrillo, TW Networx, Music for Young Minds Foundation, TMS Titanium, MAC Speed and Custom, Chino Hills Transmission, and ICE Recovery + Wellness.
“The NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series and Rupert Motorsports provide a great platform to introduce Shell Roofing Solutions Group to the fans in attendance and the broadcast audience on Fox Sports 1,” said Rudy Gutierrez, Shell Roofing Solutions Inc. President & CEO. “The adrenaline of 330-mph racing, the thrash in the pits, and accessibility of the teams leave a deep impression on those who experience it. We’ve been part of Jason’s team as they’ve progressed into consistent 3-second performances, and we saw a great opportunity to increase our presence at the season-ending event in Pomona.”
