Rocky Mountain Raceweek 2024: Surviving the Scorching Roads from Tulsa to Texas on Day 2

Welcome back to the latest update from Rocky Mountain Raceweek 2024! Day 2 has been nothing short of a grueling test of endurance and perseverance for our fearless racers. Departing from Tulsa Raceway Park, the journey southward towards Texas Motorplex promised two things… HEAT and terrible roads.

The day kicked off early for many racers that were trying to beat the heat. The thing about the drives on RMRW though is that racers have to follow a specific route while taking photos at different checkpoints. One of the checkpoints was Forced Performance Turbochargers in Van Alstyne, Texas. This stop was needed for many racers… not only to let their cars cool down, but themselves as well.

Like I mentioned, the roads were not in anyone’s favor along the way. Between dirt roads and MASSIVE potholes, several racers found themselves making roadside repairs. One of these racers happened to be Bryant Goldstone who currently sits No. 1 overall. Bryant was cruising along when all of the sudden BOOM… he hit a pothole that was large enough to put a hole right in his oil pan. Luckily, he was able to repair it and keep on his way.

Most racers ended up taking several breaks throughout the day to keep cool, which put them to Ennis, Texas, in the late evening. Because today was a drive day though… this was okay as there was no racing happening at night.

I am excited to see how racing goes at the Texas Motorplex and to catch up with the racers to hear more stories about how the grueling drive went for them. Stay tuned as we bring you the latest updates and highlights from Rocky Mountain Raceweek 2024, where every mile is a testament to the spirit of true racing enthusiasts.
