In an exciting showcase of raw horsepower and engineering mastery, the team at Robinson Race Cars recently had the opportunity to feature their Pro Mod Camaro in a Hoonigan video series filmed in the UK.
Known for pushing the boundaries of automotive culture, Hoonigan invited Andy Robinson and his team to participate in a grudge race that would put their 2,900 horsepower Pro Mod Camaro against an equally formidable opponent—the 1,700 HP Pro Import Mazda from the Overkill team.
“Earlier this year, we were asked if we would be able to take part in a grudge race as part of a Hoonigan video series filmed here in the UK. It turns out a Pro Mod will not only get you to heaven, it will also get you on Hoonigan!” said Luke Robinson of Robinson Race Cars, referencing Drag Illustrated Founder Wes Buck’s recent comments on “The Wes Buck Show.”
The race was conducted with an arm drop start—no small feat for the brave soul tasked with initiating the race. Robinson and his team didn’t hold back, as they “hossed the gas” and even “dumped the chutes on the Mazda,” showcasing the Camaro’s power.
The race concluded with the Camaro achieving a five-second run at 234 MPH, significantly faster than the Mazda, which faced mechanical issues. The video ends with the racers planning a rematch.
Despite the fierce competition, the event was all in good spirits. “All that being said, we are friends with the Overkill guys, so this was a great bit of fun for all of us,” Robinson added.
For automotive enthusiasts and followers of Hoonigan alike, this grudge race was a blend of performance, adrenaline, and camaraderie, demonstrating what it truly means to be a part of the automotive culture that Hoonigan so passionately promotes.
