Racing Action To Continue Wednesday at the Strange Spring Fling Presented by Optima

The Strange Engineering Spring Fling presented by OPTIMA Batteries at GALOT Motorsports Park fired up with Rob’s Auto Tuesday Test and Tune with the RAD Torque Systems $20,000 Shootout.

The 32-car field was made up of 16 door cars and 16 dragsters. In the quarterfinals, Pete D’Agnolo, Jeff Verdi, Cory Gulitti, and Richard Alford Jr. met on the door car side with Austin Thompson, Shane Thompson, Jeffrey Dobbins Jr., and Robbie Martell on the dragster side. Verdi bowed out to D’Agnolo by way of a double breakout, while Gulitti put together .007 total to eliminate Alford Jr. Austin Thompson was .004 for the win against Shane Thompson, and Dobbins II advanced past Martell on the double breakout.

Gulitti put it dead-on five to the .011 and five thousandths under of D’Agnolo, with Austin Thompson putting together .015 total to the .017 light of Dobbins. It would be his third Fling final round appearance within the month of April after winning the dragster shootout and a runner-up in the 60K at the Las Vegas Spring Fling Million.

Shortly after the final round call was made, a weather system rolled in that would postpone racing action to Wednesday.

Advanced Product Design $15,000 Wednesday will begin at 8:15 a.m. with time runs followed by the final round of the RAD Torque Systems $20,000 Shootout.
