Racetech USA Launches No-Compromise Full Carbon 8119 Series Drag Race Seat Range

The global leader in competition seat design and development, Racetech, recently launched their lightest seat range ever with the full-carbon fiber 8119 series. The all-new range includes models with and without head restraint bolsters, both featuring Racetech’s safest and most advanced seat technology innovated specifically for drag racing.

The RT8119 and RT8119HR are designed with Racetech’s proven ergonomic shell architecture and built from premium carbon fiber, optimizing the biomechanics of safe driver fitment and functionality of weight reduction. The RT8119 will be offered in two sizes ranging from 11.76 – 11.86 lbs while its head restraint counterpart, the RT8119HR, will be offered in three sizes ranging from 11.66 lbs – 12.1 lbs.

Both seat models accept a 7-point harness with reverse submarine belts in alignment with the latest NHRA tech regulations. Beneath the black fire-retardant cover is the latest in energy-absorbing foam for optimal head restraint, shoulder and rib support while the available Racetech-exclusive back-mounting system provides enhanced chassis feel.

Racetech’s Managing Director, David Black, expands on what brought this new seat range to life stating, “We’ve closely studied the drag racing market for years and gathered feedback from the most competitive drivers to develop the 8119 range of seats. These drivers want it all and we wanted to find a way to deliver that without compromising on the most important competitive advantage – safety.”

Safety as a competitive advantage is a core principle behind every Racetech product and the 8119 series is no exception. The safer a driver feels, the more confident they will be to push the car even harder down the track to get the win light and get home after every run. One of Racetech’s development partners, Alex Laughlin, who has competed at nearly every level of drag racing from Factory X to Pro Mod to Top Fuel, was the first driver to compete with an 8119 series seat debuting at the final NHRA Congruity Pro Mod Series race of the 2025 season at the Dodge NHRA Nevada Nationals powered by Direct Connection at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. That same weekend, the 8119 series seats were also announced as a lightweight upgrade seat package in the new 2026 Charger Hustle Stuff Drag Pak.
