Pro Jr. Dragster Standout Carson Hoyle Stepping Up to PDRA Pro 632 in 2025

After a thrilling career driving Jr. Dragsters and putting his car in the winner’s circle two times this year in one of the toughest classes in the Red Line Oil PDRA Drag Racing Series, 17-year-old Carson Hoyle is planning to make a major jump into the world of fast doorslammer racing, as he’s set to field a 1969 Camaro in PDRA Pro 632 competition in the 2025 season.

The car was constructed at Jerry Bickel Race Cars, and is a proven front runner when it competed in Pro Nitrous, Big Dog, and no-time trim. It will now be powered by a Pat Musi 632-cubic-inch power plant coupled with an ATI transmission for the upcoming PDRA season. Tuning the Camaro will be stepdad Chris Rini, who’s had many successful outings in the car.

For Hoyle, the jump from Jr. Dragster to Pro 632 is a major move, but he’s certainly up for the challenge.

“I was able to make some test hits in the Camaro, thanks to Jeff Miles, at Darlington Dragway with the set up for no-time racing,” Hoyle said, “and I must say, it’s a great driving machine, and definitely an eye-opening experience when compared to my Jr. Dragster! I want to give a special thanks to Bryant Marriner for allowing me to test and Chris Rini for teaching me not only how to work on the car but drive it. He’s a great teacher and role model.

“I’m anxious for the season-opening PDRA event at GALOT Motorsports Park, and I’m pretty sure I’ll be a better driver than Rini,” added Carson with a big smile.
