Performance Racing Industry (PRI) today announced it will seek to mobilize voters in the grassroots racing community through its participation in Drive The Vote, a campaign by the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) to encourage participation in the 2024 general election.
SEMA launched Drive The Vote on Sept. 9 to provide vetted resources on voter registration to its 7,000 member companies, as well as the millions of auto enthusiasts across the U.S. PRI will amplify the campaign to its own members.
“Voting is the lifeblood of a healthy democracy, and it’s critical that PRI members get off the sidelines by voting for the leaders who will represent our values in Washington, D.C., and in statehouses nationwide,” said PRI President Mike Good. “We’re proud to join SEMA’s Drive The Vote campaign, which will empower our members and those around them with trusted information on voting in their community. And, because some of PRI’s members will attend the 2024 SEMA Show, which starts on Election Day, Nov. 5, we also urge those heading to Las Vegas to plan to vote early using these resources as guides.”
The Drive The Vote campaign is simple in its intent: encourage Americans to register to vote and then cast their ballots, using content designed to help industry leaders navigate interactions with congressional candidates, highlight the automotive aftermarket’s advocacy priorities, and encourage enthusiasts’ participation in the electoral process. SEMA is providing vetted links to important voter information, questions to ask candidates during campaign events, and social media assets and sample messages to encourage their employees, customers, and community members to register to vote.
