Nitro Fish, one of the most recognizable apparel brands in the NHRA world, has been named the presenting sponsor of the 40th annual NHRA Reading Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway.
Celebrating four decades of incredible action at one of the most popular stops on the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series tour, the NHRA Reading Nationals presented by Nitro Fish will take place Sept. 11-14, again serving as the kickoff to the six-race Countdown to the Championship playoffs.
The Koretsky family took over the famed facility in 2022, making significant renovations and upgrades. The passionate Pennsylvania fanbase has packed the track in recent years, with sellout crowds announced each of the last three seasons. Nitro Fish has been a staple in NHRA apparel for more than 20 years, known for bold, colorful designs that have made the brand a fan favorite.
“We are proud to welcome Nitro Fish Apparel as the presenting sponsor of the 40th NHRA Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway,” said Maple Grove Raceway’s Kyle Koretsky. “Nitro Fish has a long tradition of supporting the NHRA, its racers, and this facility, making their involvement especially fitting for this milestone year. Celebrating four decades of world-class racing and passionate fans, we look forward to delivering an unforgettable weekend.”
Last season’s winners included Antron Brown (Top Fuel), Austin Prock (Funny Car), Aaron Stanfield (Pro Stock), and Hector Arana Jr. (Pro Stock Motorcycle), with Brown and Prock going on to claim world championships.
The race will be broadcast on FS1, showcasing the stars of Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock, and Pro Stock Motorcycle as they look to launch their championship runs. Maple Grove is renowned for its speed, with Brittany Force’s 3.623-second run from 2019 still standing as the quickest pass in NHRA history.
In Top Fuel, Force will be joined by points leader Shawn Langdon, defending winner and three-time Reading champ Brown, Doug Kalitta, Clay Millican, Tony Stewart, and local favorite Justin Ashley.
Funny Car fans can expect a stacked field led by points leader Prock, three-time Reading winner Jack Beckman, Matt Hagan, Ron Capps, J.R. Todd, Cruz Pedregon, Bob Tasca III, Daniel Wilkerson, Paul Lee, and rookie Spencer Hyde.
Stanfield will look to repeat in Pro Stock against a loaded roster that includes reigning world champ Greg Anderson, points leader Dallas Glenn, Cory Reed, six-time champ Erica Enders, and five-time champ Jeg Coughlin Jr.
In Pro Stock Motorcycle, Gaige Herrera leads the points battle, with challengers Matt Smith (a three-time Reading winner), Angie Smith, Richard Gadson, Chase Van Sant, Steve Johnson, and John Hall all looking for victory.
The event will also feature action from the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, Flexjet NHRA Factory Stock Showdown, Holley EFI NHRA Factory X, and Johnson’s Horsepowered Garage NHRA Mountain Motor Pro Stock.
