Season 2 of Talkin’ Funny Cars with Buddy Hull rolls on tomorrow with a powerful new episode featuring Alexis DeJoria, Funny Car driver for JCM Racing and the only current full-time female competitor in the category. The fifth episode of season two premieres Wednesday, October 8, at 8 p.m. ET and 8 p.m. PT on the NHRA FAST Channel.
In this episode, host Buddy Hull sits down with DeJoria for an inspiring and high-energy conversation about her journey to the top of the sport. A first-generation racer who carved her own path, DeJoria shares how she first got hooked on Funny Cars, what it took to break into professional drag racing and the personal standard she set for herself early on: refusing to move up to the next level until she won a race. She also talks about the unmatched adrenaline rush of piloting one of the most powerful machines in motorsports and what continues to drive her passion for competition today.
