MMA legend Randy “The Natural” Couture is officially adding “Pro Mod driver” to his already stacked resume.
On Friday at the Gerber Collision & Glass NHRA Route 66 Nationals, SCAG Racing pulled the wraps off Couture’s new ride—a 1937 Chevy Pro Modified hot rod decked out in SCAG Power Equipment’s unmistakable Cats Eye Gold. The car proudly features the SCAG Jackal mini skid steer and the Tree Frog slope mower, tying in SCAG’s identity with Couture’s next chapter.

While Couture is still finishing up his NHRA Pro Mod licensing, he’s expected to make his competition debut next month at the NHRA Virginia Nationals.
“The car hasn’t looked better. I’m very, very excited to be in Cats Eye Cold, back in orange and black, back to my wrestling roots at Oklahoma State and Oregon State University, where I both wrestled and then coached,” said Couture. “Excited to be with my new team here, SCAG Racing. I’m learning some new skills and tickling that competitive bone by going Pro Mod racing. I’m very excited about the opportunity, and I think it’s going to be an amazing year.”
A UFC Hall of Famer, actor, and former U.S. Army Sergeant, Couture is no stranger to competition, but his entry into the world of 250+ mph doorslammer racing adds a whole new layer.
The SCAG Pro Mod will remain on display throughout the Route 66 NHRA Nationals weekend. The event is a home race for SCAG Racing, whose parent company, Metalcraft of Mayville, is based in Wisconsin. Hundreds of employees, dealers, and distributors from Metalcraft and SCAG are attending the event, making Friday’s unveiling even more meaningful.
