Justin Ashley and SCAG Toyota Team Gear Up for NHRA Arizona Nationals

Top Fuel standout Justin Ashley and his SCAG Power Equipment Toyota Top Fuel dragster team are ready to ignite the desert as they head into the 40th annual NHRA Arizona Nationals at Firebird Motorsports Park.

Ashley, the 2020 NHRA Rookie of the Year, enters the weekend with confidence after reaching the final round at Firebird in 2024, where he fell just short against Shawn Langdon. With a win at the Arizona Nationals in 2023, Ashley will be looking to pilot his 11,000-horsepower SCAG Toyota machine to his third consecutive final round at the Arizona Nationals.

“What excites me most about returning to Phoenix is the opportunity to continue making laps on this race car. Mike [Green], Tommy [DeLago], and the team worked hard over the last few months to make the necessary changes required for increased performance. The more laps we make, the more data we receive, the better we become,” Ashley said. “We’ve had a lot of success at Firebird Motorsports Park in the past and are fully positioned to do the same this weekend. It’s our goal to go just one round further than last season and park our SCAG Power Equipment Toyota Top Fuel dragster in the winner’s circle.”

Ashley is coming off a No. 14 qualifying position and first round exit at the weather shortened season-opening NHRA Gatornationals. He currently sits in a three-way tie for 15th in points heading into only the second event of the 2025 Mission Foods NHRA Drag Racing Series season.

Competition at the NHRA Arizona Nationals at Firebird Motorsports Park kicks off with four qualifying rounds Friday at 2:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. and Saturday at 11:30 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. Eliminations begin Sunday at 11:00 a.m. Television coverage will be on FOX Sports 1 (FS1) with qualifying shows Friday at 8:00 p.m. ET and Sunday at 12:30 p.m. ET. Eliminations will air Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET.
