JEGS Expands Commitment to Texas Motorplex, Texas Fall Nationals Friday Night Live Program

JEGS, one of the largest automotive aftermarket suppliers in the U.S. shipping products daily throughout North America and around the world, has been an integral part of the Stampede of Speed since 2023 through their sponsorship of the JEGS Allstars event at Texas Motorplex. Today it was announced that the relationship is expanding beyond their presence at the 10-day Stampede of Speed to include year-round marketing and sponsorship activation at the historic track located just south of Dallas. JEGS will interact with racers and fans all season through enhanced support of street nights, bracket races, feature shows, and highlighted activities during the 40th NHRA Texas Fall Nationals.

“JEGS has been a part of my life since before I built the Texas Motorplex,” said Billy Meyer, Texas Motorplex founder and co-owner. “When I started racing as a teenager, Jeg Coughlin Sr. would help me out by selling me his used funny car parts so I could afford to race. JEGS has always been about treating racers like family, and we are excited to expand our relationship with them. Fans will see a lot of exciting additions at every level of our racing program moving forward.”

The most noticeable change will be the permanent addition of the JEGS name to the right-lane scoreboard, creating the JEGS Lane at Texas Motorplex, where elapsed times and high speeds in the sport will challenge world records. JEGS will also become the sponsor of the wildly popular Friday Night Live at the NHRA Texas Fall Nationals, which will include special Opening Ceremonies prior to the start of professional qualifying and significant cash payouts for all four professional categories during the nighttime qualifying session as part of the “Battle for the Saddle.” Texas Motorplex will also promote a “Black & Yellow Bash,” encouraging fans to wear JEGS colors to the Friday JEGS Allstars and Friday Night Live activities.

“Friday Night Lights is such a big part of Texas high school football, and we want to bring that same energy to JEGS Friday Night Live,” said Christie Meyer Johnson, Texas Motorplex co-owner. “We want fans to wear their black and yellow gear, or even better, sport some cool JEGS t-shirts or jackets and really turn the grandstands black and yellow. We’ll have fun contests to reward fans for the most creative and wild looks.”

JEGS has been providing parts and instructions to do-it-yourself enthusiasts for decades, supporting them with everything needed to restore a hot rod, detail a muscle car, or keep up with the latest street machine trends. Racers rely on JEGS to provide the most competitive performance products on the market at every level of the sport. During the Stampede of Speed, Texas Motorplex will host on-track events including the Texas Invitational, an NHRA divisional, the JEGS Allstars race, and the 40th NHRA Texas Fall Nationals, with racers being supported and supplied by JEGS throughout.

“This expanded partnership reflects JEGS’ longstanding belief that racers deserve consistent support both on and off the track,” said David Salin, Marketing Director at JEGS. “The Motorplex brings racers and fans together in a way that celebrates the spirit of drag racing. We’re proud to deepen our commitment to the racers and fans who fuel this incredible sport year-round, and we’re looking forward to seeing black and yellow in the lanes, in the stands, and throughout a full calendar of events.”

The Stampede of Speed kicks off Friday, October 3, with the traditional cattle drive through historic downtown Waxahachie. A full schedule of events, including the concert lineup for the Stars of Texas Music Festival (October 3–5), can be found at www.stampedeofspeed.com.
