JBS Motorsports Announces Departure From Bahrain 1 Racing Team, Eyes 2025 Season With New Partner

After ending the 2024 season on a high note by capturing the Congruity NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series presented by LearnEV+ championship with rising star Jordan Lazic, Justin Bond’s JBS Motorsports will head into 2025 searching for a new primary sponsor. The team announced its departure from the Bahrain 1 Racing Team, effective immediately, following a decision by Mr. Sheikh Abdullah Bin Hamad Al Khalifa not to extend sponsorship.

“We would like to take this moment to sincerely thank the Kingdom of Bahrain and Mr. Sheikh Abdullah Bin Hamad Al Khalifa for their unwavering support over the years,” said Bond. “Their partnership has been instrumental to our success, fostering an environment of growth, learning, and achievement. We are deeply grateful for the opportunities we’ve been given and the trust that was placed in us during our time with the team.”

Bond also acknowledged the loyalty of Bahrain’s passionate fanbase, emphasizing that their support has been, “the fuel to our fire.” While the conclusion of a longstanding partnership is never easy, Bond remains optimistic about what’s ahead.

“Looking ahead, the JBS Motorsports team is actively seeking a new primary partner or brand to align with for future endeavors,” Bond continued. “We’re eager to explore new possibilities and continue pushing the boundaries of excellence in the motorsport world. We’re committed to keeping this championship-winning team together and are confident and excited about the future.”

The announcement comes on the heels of JBS Motorsports’ remarkable 2024 campaign, capped by Lazic’s come-from-behind title run. Despite missing the first two events of a 10-race season, Lazic quickly gained ground in the series to secure a spot in the Road to the Championship playoffs, ultimately clinching the title at the season finale in Las Vegas.

“First off, we had only booked four races this year with the intention of a full season in 2025,” said Lazic, who hails from Kelowna, B.C. “After four races, we were 10th in the points, and we thought, ‘Damn, we need to keep going.’”

Lazic, who made a brief but memorable NHRA Pro Mod appearance in 2023, joined Bahrain 1 Racing for the near-full 2024 campaign. His underdog championship effort underscored his talent—and the team’s capability—further enhancing JBS Motorsports’ momentum heading into 2025.

With Bond, Lazic and fellow team driver Khalid al Balooshi now on the hunt for a key marketing partner, JBS Motorsports is poised to continue building on its recent success, even as it closes the chapter on a fruitful partnership with Bahrain 1.

“Thank you once again to everyone who has been part of this incredible journey,” said Bond. “We look forward to the next chapter and the opportunities that lie ahead.”
