Hruska Returning with Walsh to NHRA Pro Mod Series

Walsh_CamaroPrecision Turbo & Engine President Harry Hruska makes his return to NHRA Pro Mod competition this season with the legendary ’68 Chevrolet Camaro he previously campaigned with Brad Personett, this time with Don Walsh, Jr. behind the wheel.

Walsh was tapped for driving duties after proving himself to be a strong competitor and talented driver during his rookie 2012 Pro Mod season while working with Hruska on his Walsh Motorsports turbocharged Mustang. That same year, the team finished third in points overall.

Hruska worked out a deal with Personett earlier this year, and has been working feverishly to get the car ready for the first NHRA Pro Mod race scheduled for March 14-16, at Auto-Plus Raceway in Gainesville, FL.

Boosted by twin Precision GEN2 Pro Mod turbochargers and a BigStuff3 Powertrain Management System, a 521-cubic-inch engine will power the Camaro. The last time that Hruska was responsible for Crew Chief duties on the car with Personett, the pair not only won the final Pro Mod race of the 2010 season at Las Vegas but also set numerous records.

“I’m very excited to be teaming up with Harry Hruska/Precision Turbo again for the 2014 NHRA Pro Mod season. In early testing we have made some nice runs and are really looking forward to a great season with some tough competition,” Walsh said.

“I would also like to thank Brad Personett for all of his help in getting me comfortable in the car he has successfully campaigned for the past few years. I feel confident that we have assembled a first class team and am looking forward to many accomplishments.”

Additionally, two new sponsors, Strange Engineering and the IFL Group, will be on board for 2014.

With the 2014 NHRA Pro Mod season shaping up to be the best ever, the turbocharged entries, including the Hruska/Walsh team’s Camaro, are poised to be some of the top contenders this year.
