Doomsday No Prep Returns to Xtreme Raceway Park

Doomsday No Prep is back at Xtreme Raceway Park, and promoters Michael Hollis and Barrett Green have officially dropped the class lineup and initial payouts for the August 15-16 showdown.

The longtime Texas drag racing personalities – Hollis, an accomplished racer-turned-promoter, and Green, the man behind Big Hat Mafia and beloved character at the drag strip – hosted a chaotic and hilarious Facebook Live session to reveal what’s in store for this summer’s no-prep banger.

“We’re already at $6,100 in guaranteed sponsor money, and we’re still shaking the trees,” said Green. “We’re trying to get that pot up to eight or ten grand before we roll into XRP.”

FRIDAY NIGHT UNDER THE LIGHTS

Friday’s action includes:

  • Quick Street
  • Junior Dragsters
  • 750 Madness
  • Practice Tree Shootout presented by Michael Hawes Racing
Plus, limited Test and Tune / Grudge Racing spots available for $50 — a move aimed at keeping the program moving.

“We don’t need 300 cars testing,” Hollis added. “We’re running real classes. This isn’t a free-for-all.”

SATURDAY SHOWDOWN
Saturday brings out the heavy hitters with:

  • Cheap Street – $1,000 on top locked in
  • Small Tire
  • Little Gangsters
  • Modern Muscle – $500 on top
  • 750 Tailgate
  • Junior Dragsters (again)

The duo confirmed footbrake-only rules for classes like 7.50 Tailgate and 7.50 Madness, and made it clear: “No electronics. No two-steps. Keep it simple.”

A THROWBACK VIBE WITH MODERN ENERGY

Between the jokes, storytime tangents, and shoutouts to sponsors, Hollis and Green made it clear this event is more than just racing – it’s about community.

“Whether you’re racing, grudge running, or just hanging out by the fence with a cold one, this is the kind of race you circle on your calendar,” Hollis said.

With fans already asking about class rules, spectator prices, and lock-in flyers, expect more details to drop in the coming weeks.

Until then, mark your calendars:
