Advanced Product Design Tuesday set the stage for the 10th Anniversary Moser Engineering Spring Fling Million presented by OPTIMA Batteries at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Nearly five hundred entries got the opportunity to dial-in their equipment for Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday’s $30K’s in addition to the Million Dollar Friday main event.
Time trials for the week ran in conjunction with the eliminations of a 32-car shootout made up of both west and east coast talent battling it out for a 2025 American Race Cars complete rolling dragster sporting a Riggeal’s Performance carbon 1-piece body valued at $68,000. The chassis features an upgraded AutoMeter digital dash, limited edition blue carbon ELITE Outlaw Biondo shifter, and custom “Vegas Fling” rear beadlocks.
At eight cars, Shane Molinari, Kevin Brannon, Eric Goulden, Will Holloman, Jeff Serra, Cory Gulitti, Chad Broom, and Richard Taylor met on the ladder. Gulitti was .006 and dead-on eight to the seven-thousandths red light of Goulden, while Broom fouled out against the .011 bulb of Brannon. Taylor advanced past Molinari, while Serra clicked it .005 too early to the .011 of Holloman.
In the semifinals, Taylor fouled out while Gulitti continued to drill the tree with a .001 reaction time. The following pair saw Holloman let go .002 red to the .007 package of Brannon.
Gulitti rolled into the burnout box, wheeling his 2021 American Shootout prize dragster, looking to pick up another, while Brannon was the Spring Fling Million Champion at Vegas just three years ago. By way of Brannon’s .001 redlight, Gulitti would secure another American dragster win for his stable, finishing his string of great lights with a .009.
At 8 a.m. sharp, racers will roll into eliminations of the first of three $30,000 races on Silver State Refrigeration Wednesday, where prizes will start rolling out for best losing packages and best reaction times.
Race fans will be able to catch all of the action live exclusively on the @RaceTheFlings YouTube all week long, courtesy of Hoosier Racing Tires and JEGS Performance.
The Fling in-house production crew will be bringing three roaming cameras to provide more vantage points to viewers at home.
