On the heels of the “Outlaw 32” points championship announcement from Speed Promotions Racing (formerly No Prep Kings), Chris “BoostedGT” Hamilton went live on social media for another major announcement for the series – two $100,000-to-win guaranteed small-tire races.

The first race will take place June 20-21 at Beech Bend Raceway Park in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Drivers will compete on a no-prep surface, with the only rules being cars must have steel roof and quarters on a 28×10.5 tire and no wheelie bars. The second event will be October 31-November 1 at Galot Motorsports Park, and will be on a radial-prepped surface. Competitors cannot show times within six months of the event.

For Hamilton, a longtime small-tire racer, the two events mark a huge accomplishment in his efforts to shine a bigger spotlight on the class within NPK and SPR.

“We have been asking year after year to give us one race to really spotlight small tire,” said Hamilton. “Finally, they are taking a chance and giving us not one, but two massive $100,000 payday small-tire races. It’s up to the racers and fans to show them what small tire is all about.”

For their part, the racers have responded in droves. Within one hour of registration opening for the event in Bowling Green, all 64 spots were full. Hamilton said the incredible response forced SPR to open more entries, which was subsequently bumped up to 100. In less than 24 hours, those were sold out as well. The entry cap received one more bump, this time to 128, which Hamilton says is final – no more extensions or opening up spots.

“Just as I expected, given the chance, the small tire racers would come out of the woodwork for this insane race,” Hamilton said. “In under 24 hours, we have secured over 100 locked-in, paid entries for the $100,000 to win no-prep race at Beech Bend Raceway.”

The first round of the small tire shootouts will take place on Friday night, and will be off the trailer, meaning drivers won’t get any shots at the track prior to eliminations. In Bowling Green, Friday night will also feature supporting classes like Lil Gangstas, Big Tire Open, and 7.0 Index. The remaining small-tire eliminations will occur on Saturday, with the same three supporting classes competing as well.

Hamilton teased that the committed racers list is a who’s who of the small-tire racing community, and SPR will be begin releasing some of the names soon so fans know who is showing up. One name that will definitely be competing, however, is Hamilton himself.

“I can’t tell you how excited I am,” said Hamilton. “This is really putting small tire on the map. They (SPR) heard all you guys wanting a small-tire, big-money race. There are a lot of people that want to get in on this race, and rightfully so. It’s a lot of money, and anything can happen.”
