Brad McBride Excited for PDRA Super Street Debut at Darlington

If you watch the starting line at any given PDRA event, or watch PDRA Extreme Pro Stock, you have likely seen Brad McBride hard at work. McBride oversees track analysis and is the clutch service technician for Dwayne Rice’s Extreme Pro Stock team. But this week, McBride will be pulling double duty as he makes his debut in the PDRA Super Street class.

“This has been a goal ever since I started attending these PDRA events,” says McBride. “I really like what I see here and I am so thankful that Dwayne is giving me some time to focus on my program as well.”

At this week’s PDRA Carolina Nationals held at Darlington Dragway, McBride will be entering his 1963 Volkswagen Fastback in the intense and ever-growing Super Street class. The Volkswagen VR6 powered Fasty will be up against some tough competition as the class has seen elapsed times in the low 4.70 range.

McBride states that bringing a VW to compete with the American Muscle V8s is a big challenge, but it is with partners like Schaeffer’s Oil, BorgWarner Performance Turbo, Younce RV, United Engine & Machine, and WPC Sign that have really positioned his program to step up to the challenge.
