Bartone Bros. Racing Win Top Alcohol Funny Car at the NHRA Carolina Nationals at zMAX Dragway

Bartone Bros. Racing takes home another win in Top Alcohol Funny Car, this time at the NHRA Carolina Nationals at zMAX Dragway.

Sean Bellemeur and the Killer B’s were at the top of the timesheet all weekend at zMAX Dragway. With the tune of Steve Boggs and driving of Bellemeur, they made a 5.51 and 265 MPH last pass against Bob McCosh to take the Wally.

The win is especially sweet as McCosh beat the team in Brainerd last month. The win is the team’s fifth national win complimented by three regional victories.

“The conditions at zMax Dragway were tough this past weekend,” Bellemeur said. “Steve and the boys worked all winter long to get the Pirate Ship down hot race tracks. It has been a weak point the last couple of years. I think we proved all summer long we have a good handle on hot racetracks. zMax Dragway is a great facility. They do a great job prepping the track for the conditions. We just wanted to stay smart, keep one step ahead, and turn on win lights.

“The car ran between a 5.46 and 5.52 all weekend. The Pirate Ship was on rails in the changing conditions, cooler, hotter, stickier, it just didn’t matter the guys did their thing. We were down a guy, but everyone pulled together to get the Wally.

“Thanks to Tony Bartone for pushing us forward and Steve Boggs, Troy Green, Nick Stoms, Justin Taylor, Garret Bateman, Seth Shebester, and Matt Krebs for their great work to prep the car for a winning weekend.”
