Bartone Bros. Racing Cap Off American Rebel Light NHRA Four-Wide Nationals With a Win

Bartone Bros. Racing claimed another Top Alcohol Funny Car victory at the American Rebel Light NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at zMAX Dragway.

Driver Sean Bellemeur backed up the team’s record-setting, delayed Gatornationals win by capturing Wally number two of the weekend in Top Alcohol Funny Car.

In the four-wide final, Bellemeur lined up against Maddie Gordon, Bob McCosh, and Chip Beverett. The Californian delivered a sharp .021 reaction time and powered to a 5.39-second run at 272 MPH to seal the double Wally weekend for Tony Bartone and the Killer B’s.

“I can’t begin to tell you what this means to me personally,” Bellemeur said. “With this all-new combination, blocking out the outside noise—which I let get to me in Vegas—was critical. Even if the car feels completely ‘Greek’ next week, Steve Boggs will figure out how to make it go fast. They didn’t increase the nitro percentage to alcohol, but now we have data to work from. Steve has a baseline to really make this car fly.

“He and I talked nearly every day for two weeks about how I could cut better lights. After Vegas, I walked away like a dog with its tail between its legs. I worked hard, and it paid off. That means a lot to me. The guys on this team and Steve never stopped working. This is my eighth year with Tony, and I still feel like I’m the luckiest racer in the world.”

Bellemeur added, “I have to thank Tony for his enthusiasm for this sport and Steve Boggs for still having the fire to make this car go. And, of course, the crew that makes it all possible: Troy Green, Nick Stoms, Justin Taylor, Garret Bateman, Brian Gawlik, Lauren McMaster, and Matt Krebs.”

The team now shifts focus to Lucas Oil Raceway Park in Indianapolis for next weekend’s Cleetus and Cars regional.

A huge thank you to our incredible team sponsors: Red Line Synthetic Oil, Roger Dean Chevrolet, Talon Air, LLC, NGK Spark Plugs, and Mastercam, along with our valued product supporters, Simpson Performance Products and Taylor Motorsports Products.
