Arnold Smith wheeled the “Natural High” ‘69 Nova to the Function Enterprises $20,000 Shootout win at the JEGS Performance Door Car Fling presented by OPTIMA Batteries at GALOT Motorsports Park.

In the final, Arnold Smith from Roseboro, NC was one hundredth over the dial against the four-thousandths breakout of Phillip Truitt from Salisbury, MD to pick up the $20,000 big check in the 32-Car Shootout Wednesday evening.

At four cars, Phillip Truitt was .004 at the starting line and took .005 at the stripe for the win against the dead-on nine lap of Eric Aman. Arnold Smith and Connor Caulder were separated by five thousandths at the hit, with Smith having the advantage and crossing the finish line first by .007 to advance past Caulder.

Logan Westmoreland, Arnold Smith, Tanner Miller, Phillip Truitt, Larry Chapman, Eric Aman, Chris Dixon, and Connor Caulder appeared in the ladder round. Westmoreland was .005 and .001 short at the top end to give the win to Smith, while Truitt put his Camaro dead-on zero to eliminate Miller. Aman was .005 on the tree to put together a .019 package against the .020 bulb of Chapman. Caulder let go .009 for the win over Dixon.
