Aquaphalt Joins WDRA Alliance to Support Member Tracks, Racers

Revolutionary asphalt and concrete repair manufacturer Aquaphalt has joined the WDRA as a partner in the Alliance and offers an exclusive discount program to assist WDRA member tracks through 1st Ayd.

“We are thrilled to introduce Aquaphalt to the sport on a large scale as this is a revolutionary product for both racing surface and general facility repairs,” said WDRA’s Jon O’Neal. “We saw this product used in a real-world drag racing environment and were very impressed with the repair. The fact that it was speedy, and our test repair has lasted several months now under extreme abuse at a drag strip with no signs of deteriorating. This product is designed as a permanent repair, not a temporary fix.”

Michael Wertheim of Aquaphalt adds, “Aquaphalt keeps the race going with fast repairs for damaged tracks — you just pour it in, spray some water on it, and tamp it down. It begins to harden right away, so you can drive on it immediately. It’s a bad day to be a pothole.”

Used successfully in Europe for years, Aquaphalt is the first pre-mixed, permanent repair material that is enduring, high-performing, and 100% environmentally friendly. Aquaphalt’s proprietary “green” binder reacts and hardens with solely water, unlike other asphalt patching products available on the market today, which contain toxic petroleum-based solvents with volatile organic compounds. Aquaphalt is used to repair both asphalt and concrete and is the revolutionary solution for long-lasting quality repairs.

“Drag Strip operators know that one of your most consistent maintenance problems is patching asphalt,” said WDRA member track owner Carl Blanton. “Having operated Mo-Kan Dragway for over 25 years, we have tried everything. When my manager approached me with the Aquaphalt, I was very skeptical, but after having used it for the last two years, we are true believers.  It has fixed pothole problems that we thought would never go away. We’ve used it on the racing surface, in the pits, and on the return road. It holds up everywhere.”

WDRA brings this product to member tracks with an exclusive discount program through another WDRA partner and new Aquaphalt distributor, 1st AYD. “WDRA tracks already purchase many of their operational products at a discount through 1st AYD, so adding Aquaphalt to the benefits list was a natural,” said O’Neal.

“1st Ayd is committed to helping the facilities of the WDRA by offering exclusive pricing on our industry leading offerings,” said Steve Schuttinga of 1st Ayd.  “Partnering with Aquaphalt and offering an exclusive discount to WDRA member tracks is a new door for both us and the WDRA, and we’re looking forward to adding it to the lineup of products that will help tracks in the day-to-day.”
