Antron Brown Aiming for Redemption at Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals

Three-time NHRA Top Fuel World Champion Antron Brown will return to action this weekend at the iconic In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip for the 65th Annual Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals, March 28-30. Piloting the Matco Tools Top Fuel Dragster, Brown seeks to continue his strong start to the 2025 NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series.

Brown enters Pomona fresh off a quarterfinal finish in Phoenix and a dominant season-opening victory at Gainesville, along with securing a No. 1 qualifying position. With a rich history at the legendary Southern California track, Brown aims to add his first Winternationals win to an impressive record that includes four victories during the season-ending NHRA Finals.

“Last time we were in Pomona, it was a great outing,” Brown said. “Won the race, won the championship, so we’re definitely looking forward to getting back out there. We have the Top Fuel All-Star Callout to kick things off during qualifying on Friday. We’re matched up with Shawn Langdon, and he’s coming off that win last weekend, we’re coming off of the win from Gainesville, so it’ll feel good to square off against him and have some redemption. We’re going to keep our heads down, get after it, and see what we can pull off. There’s some big money on the line.”

Brown’s storied career at Pomona features four wins, including his memorable 1999 triumph in Pro Stock Motorcycle, seven runner-up finishes, and three No. 1 qualifiers. Notably, Brown earned his first-ever Top Fuel No. 1 qualifier at the 2008 Pomona 1 event.

The Winternationals weekend will also present historic milestones for Brown, who enters just two elimination rounds shy of reaching his 950th Top Fuel round and 1300th overall NHRA round of competition.

Fans will have a special opportunity to meet Brown during the Team Toyota driver autograph session, scheduled for Saturday, from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m., at the Toyota midway display.

“We didn’t end Phoenix the way we wanted, but we learned a lot there and we’re getting better because of it, so we’re looking for a really good weekend in Pomona,” added Brown.
