Antron Brown Aiming for ‘Make or Break’ Win at NHRA Nevada Nationals

As the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series races towards a thrilling conclusion, all eyes are on Antron Brown, the three-time Top Fuel world champion and driver of the Matco’s ‘Tools for the Cause’ Top Fuel dragster, as he gears up for a monumental challenge at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway this weekend. Currently sitting fifth in the Countdown to the Championship rankings, Brown is in hot pursuit of his milestone 75th national event victory and a fourth series title.

This year, Brown’s dragster will don the vibrant pink ‘Tools for the Cause’ livery for the final time this season a significant emblem of Matco Tools’ commitment to breast cancer awareness.

Since its inception in 2012, ‘Tools for the Cause’ has raised over two million dollars for breast cancer research, with 15% of sales from select items in October going directly to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF). BCRF is a globally renowned nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing and curing breast cancer through advanced research, making it a fitting ally in Matco’s mission.

The stakes are high for Brown, the 15-time Countdown event winner. Coming off robust performances in Brainerd and Indianapolis, the second-year team owner of AB Motorsports is optimistic about his chances at the penultimate series event. Despite recent setbacks, Brown’s triumph at the Las Vegas four-wide event and back-to-back wins underscore his resilience and prowess on the racetrack.

Reflecting on his journey, Brown shares, “I’m super excited, we know this race is our make-or-break point in our championship chase. We’re going to go out there with our heads down and the first step is to qualify well and get a good baseline heading into race day. Our Matco dragster has been running really strong. We’ve had a couple of gremlins bite us here and there, but we’re looking forward to a really good race day in Vegas. We had some really good success at this track back in the Spring and we’re looking to lean on that. Not to mention, this will be the last race for our pink Matco ‘Tools for the Cause’ Breast Cancer Awareness month car, so we definitely want to go out and end that campaign on a good note and put ourselves back into this championship hunt.”
