Coming off the opening round of the DI Winter Series presented by J&A Service, the Snowbird Outlaw Nationals presented by Motion Raceworks, Palmer and his crew are ready to take on the next challenge: the U.S. Street Nationals presented by M&M Transmission. Despite a challenging qualifying performance at the Snowbirds, Palmer’s passion, determination, and signature resilience shine brightly as he prepares to race his iconic ’63 Corvette once again.
A Grueling Start to the Winter Series
At the Snowbird Outlaw Nationals, Palmer faced a field that made history as one of the most competitive in doorslammer racing. The 32-car field set a staggering 3.647-second bump spot, making it the tightest in the sport’s history.
Unfortunately for Palmer, the stars didn’t align during qualifying, as he posted a 4.482-second pass at 115.61 mph, landing him in the No. 63 spot. While the result didn’t earn him a place in the elimination rounds, Palmer and his crew remained optimistic, treating the event as a valuable opportunity to fine-tune their setup and work out the kinks in his supercharged Corvette.
“The Winter Series will make you question your sanity!” Palmer said with a laugh. “This is the most competitive group of badass racers in the world! There is no margin for error. It’s like a prison beatdown—if you’re not tough, you won’t survive.”
Preparing for the U.S. Street Nationals
With his sights set on the second race of the series, the U.S. Street Nationals, Palmer is doubling down on preparation and leaning on his growing network of supporters. A key part of his success has been the expertise of Mark Micke of M&M Transmission, who began collaborating with Palmer in 2024. Micke’s involvement has been instrumental in unlocking the Corvette’s potential, ensuring it remains a competitive force in the Pro Mod ranks.

“Everything I have in life I had to fight for,” Palmer shared. “So let’s ring the bell and give it everything we’ve got.”

“It’s a crazy thing, a real ‘pinch me’ moment,” Palmer said during a candid interview on episode 371 of The Wes Buck Show. Despite having only 25 runs in his Corvette over the past two years, Palmer is laser-focused on improving performance and adapting to the unique challenges of the Winter Series.
One of Palmer’s standout traits is his appreciation for the versatility of Pro Mod cars, which he describes as “multi-purpose race cars” capable of excelling in various formats, from radial racing to no-prep events. This adaptability, coupled with Palmer’s dedication to preparation, has made him a formidable competitor.
