ADRL Imposes PX/PN Minimum Weights

Snyder_burnout640The American Drag Racing League announced Jan. 17, its rules for the 2013 season. Complete rules for all nine ADRL classes are available at www.adrl.us/competition/rules/

Most rules remain unchanged from last season, though there are significant exceptions, most prominently the unprecedented mandate of minimum weights for the series’ premier Pro Extreme (PX, above) and Pro Nitrous (PN) classes, something that many competitors have called for in recent years.
PRO EXTREME
• The minimum weight at the conclusion of the run, including driver, is 2,200 lbs.
• The use of nitromethane is prohibited.
• RF SHTUDOWN RECEIVER: Properly functioning Electrimotion shutoff device (part numbers SB001 and RF001) recommended.

PRO NITROUS
• The minimum weight at the conclusion of the run, including driver, is 2,200 lbs.
• RF SHTUDOWN RECEIVER: Properly functioning Electrimotion shutoff device (part numbers SB001 and RF001) recommended.

EXTREME PRO STOCK
• TRANSMISSION: Torque convertor equipped automatic transmissions prohibited.
• ELECTRONIC FUEL INJECTION: Under consideration for 2013. A final determination will be made and posted at www.adrl.us/competition/rules/ by the ADRL Technical Services Department no later than January 23, 2013.
• RF SHTUDOWN RECEIVER: Properly functioning Electrimotion shutoff device (part numbers SB001 and RF001) recommended.

PRO EXTREME MOTORCYCLE
• Currently no changes for 2013

The ADRL will be following the 2013 NHRA rules for Pro Modified, Top Sportsman, Top Dragster and both Junior Dragster classes (Pro Jr. Dragster, ages 13-18, and Top Jr. Dragster, ages 8-13).
