Piedmont Dragway, “The Doorslammer Capital of the World,” and Lucas Oil Company have joined forces to present the Lucas Hot Rod Oil Pro Nitrous Shootout to be run June 21, at historic Piedmont Dragway.
Joe Robertson, director of marketing, and Jamie Deviney, Lucas Oil representative, have put together a premier event to promote the Lucas brand of oil made specifically for Hot Rods, with the proper zinc additives, missing from so many of today’s oil products. The event will be nitrous only–no blowers or turbos–but with success the possible addition of those cars in subsequent events.
Friday, June20, will be a test-and-tune day, at a cost of $200/entry and a complimentary cookout for all participating drivers and crew. Of utmost importance, the winners’ purse will be $15,000 with a total of over $20,000 to be paid out at the event.
In addition to the Nitrous Shootout, the event will include an invitational car show with other eliminators running. These include the Mickey Thompson 6.00 cars, with Deep Creek Motors 7.49, Jr. Dragsters, and a Stock/Super Stock combo event.
