World Series of Pro Mod Contender Jason ‘Party Time’ Harris Ready for Pro Boost Battle at PDRA Season-Opener

Jason “Party Time” Harris, two-time and reigning PDRA Pro Boost world champion, is headed into this weekend’s Summit Racing Equipment East Coast Nationals at GALOT Motorsports Park with plenty of momentum. Fresh off a strong showing during the inaugural Drag Illustrated Winter Series—culminating in a spirited run at the World Series of Pro Mod—Harris says he’s ready to carry that energy into the 2025 PDRA opener.

“You have so many tough teams in Pro Mod now, thanks to these big races in Florida,” Harris says, referencing the three-race Winter Series that pitted top names from NHRA, Mid-West Drag Racing Series, and PDRA under one umbrella. “Running with that level of competition just lights a fire under you. Now we bring that fire back home to GALOT.”

Harris has been vocal about how the Winter Series tested him—he battled illness during the U.S. Street Nationals and endured a narrow first-round loss at the Snowbirds. Yet, at the World Series of Pro Mod (WSOPM), he found his rhythm, knocking out heavy hitters and once again demonstrating the calm, consistent approach that’s led him to four total PDRA world championships (two in Pro Nitrous, two in Pro Boost).

“We went into Bradenton guns blazing,” Harris explains, “but it’s not always the fastest car that wins. You need consistency—A-to-B runs, day or night—and we got a taste of that again at WSOPM. I’m hungry to keep that going.”

In 2024, Harris rattled off a late-season trifecta of Pro Boost wins to lock up his second straight championship. Working closely with tuner Brandon Stroud, he’s championed a “level-headed” race-day strategy that consistently outlasts big-swing rivals. He credits his family-based crew and partners like Southern Diamond Company, CB Towers, Pro Line Racing, and Hoosier Racing Tire for making that game plan possible.

“I used to think it was all about hero runs, being on top in qualifying,” Harris says. “But if the car doesn’t make it down when it counts, you’re out. We can be fast—don’t get me wrong. But Pro Boost right now is insanely competitive. One mistake and you could lose first round.”

No stranger to GALOT Motorsports Park, Harris is eager to kick off his championship defense at a venue that’s treated him well in the past. With his ProCharged ’69 Camaro wearing the iconic “Party Time” moniker, he’s aiming to recapture the form that carried him through the back half of 2024.

“The PDRA opener always sets the tone,” Harris says. “Coming in with all this momentum, we just want to pick up where we left off—qualify well, go rounds, and get the year started on the right foot.”

As the Red Line Oil PDRA Drag Racing Series enters its 12th season, Harris has the chance to join an elite group of three-time champions in Pro Boost—a feat no one’s yet accomplished. But given the stacked field expected at GALOT and the rising tide of competition he saw during the off-season, nothing is guaranteed.

“That’s what makes it fun,” Harris adds with a grin. “Between the Winter Series and now PDRA, Pro Mod is at an all-time high. We’re gonna try to keep this Party Time train rolling—but I can promise it won’t be easy. That’s why we love it.”
