The 2025 season of NHRA’s Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series has been nothing short of thrilling for second-generation Competition Eliminator racer Taylor Chomiski and his Blind Frog Ranch/CIP1.com Chevrolet Cobalt. Heading into the jam-packed Stampede of Speed at Texas Motorplex, Chomiski is preparing to compete in the NHRA Texas Fallnationals, which will include the prestigious JEGS Allstars — a special event that sends the best-of-the-best from each division to the national stage to battle for top honors.
Chomiski’s entry into the event came through a series of events that included exceptional performance along with a shift in plans from the two drivers ahead of him in the JEGS Allstars points. This year’s event will mark the first time that Chomiski has raced in the highly anticipated event, although his father – engine builder, crew chief, and former racer Gary Chomiski – was an Allstar earlier in his career.
“The opportunity to represent Division 4 in the 2025 JEGS Allstars race is an accomplishment we do not take lightly,” said Chomiski, who races out of NHRA’s ultra-competitive South Central Division, a region known as home to many world champions. “The Allstars fell our way this year, and we are honored to have the chance. The extra runs will make the Dallas national event a busy weekend, but we’re going to soak up everything that comes with this honor. From the Allstars breakfast, to the ceremonies and the fanfest, we’re going to represent the division well, turn on some win lights, and have a blast doing it. Division 4 has some of the best competitors in the country, and we’re excited to show everyone what we can do on home turf.”
Chomiski enters the event with an already impressive scorecard that he’s aiming to make even better. Earlier this season, he won the national event in Las Vegas and followed up with victory at the divisional double-header there the following weekend. One month later, he logged a final-round finish at the Dallas divisional at Texas Motorplex. In September, the charging driver reached the quarterfinals on drag racing’s biggest, most historic stage: the U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis, and two weeks later he was in the final round again at the division race in Tulsa.
Last season, the second-generation racer finished No. 8 in the world, breaking into the top 10 for the first time in his career. In the NHRA South Central Division, he finished fourth.
Heading into Dallas and the heavily weighted Stampede of Speed week, Chomiski is No. 2 in the South Central Division standings behind Jeff Taylor. He is No. 3 in the national points behind leader Jeff Lane and No. 2 Joe Carnasciale.
“This Blind Frog Ranch/CIP1.com team has a chance to win every time we drive through the gate,” said Chomiski. “Tulsa ended up being a great weekend, and we were seven-thousandths of a second shy of our third race-win of the season. We accomplished our goal of bettering an effort from earlier this year, and those points are so valuable — but there are a lot of points left to claim. I expect it to be a battle all the way through the NHRA Finals in Pomona, and it starts next week in Dallas. Can’t wait.”
