The premier gasser drag racing of the Southeast Gassers Association is ready to pay the Volunteer State a visit at Knoxville Dragway for the Ram Clutch Nationals. It will be the first of two visits to Knoxville Dragway for SEGA. This race will serve as the third SEGA race of 2025, with two postponements due to weather at the slated Alabama race in the month of May. SEGA hasn’t had high revolution, clutch dumping, wheel carrying, or manual shifting action in almost two months. The nostalgia revival that is SEGA is ready to rock Rocky Top, just north of Knoxville, Tennessee, at Knoxville Dragway.
One competitor that hasn’t made a race yet will do so to start their 2025 drag racing action at the Ram Clutch Nationals. Adam Lowhorn with his Rodslinger Falcon gasser is always a delight to the fans at any event that he attends. The showman who understands how to produce long burnouts, dry hops, and bumper-dragging wheelies will be in attendance to certainly turn heads and drop jaws. However, he doesn’t want to be the only one putting on a show. In a unique call-out for any B/Gas competitor during qualifying, he has challenged anyone to a “SHOW OFF” as he typed it on a Facebook post on the Lowhorn Racing “Rodslinger” Falcon page. All that matters is who performs the best burnout along with a mandatory dry-hop and wheelie. Certainly have your eyes on B/Gas during qualifying!

Two competitors who have seen the track since race number two at Shadyside Dragway, competing this weekend, are Kenneth Phillips and Leslie Horne. During the Ronnie Buff Memorial drag race at Shadyside Dragway, Kenneth, in his Silver Streak II Corvette, called out defending A/Gas Champion Leslie Horne in his Chick Magnet ’55 Chevrolet to a $5,000 best two out of three match race. In a battle between former champions and two of the quickest cars in A/Gas SEGA racing, it was Kenneth Phillips streaking home with the green. Leslie might have lost the match race, but goes into Knoxville Dragway as the A/Gas points leader with one event win to his credit, while also being the defending event champion.
There is an expected car count of sixty-five plus legal competitive Southeast Gassers Association drag cars for the Ram Clutch Nationals. That includes hometown heroes such as Ted McKee, who is in a four-way tie for the points lead in B/Gas, driving his University of Tennessee Orange Rocky Top Missile 66’ Post Chevy II. Be on the lookout for the Wild-N-Wooly II Chevy A/FX machine to be driven by Jeffery Feguson, making its SEGA debut. While Daniel Haynes, the 2024 B/Gas champion, will make an A/FX driving debut in Todd Wimberly’s Southern Comfort Falcon.

Southeast Gassers Ram Clutch Nationals begin Friday, June 6th at 5:00 PM Eastern Time for test and tune action. Then, race day Saturday will have the racing action beginning with two rounds of qualifying at 1:00 PM ET, with eliminations following. The gassers of SEGA are ready to rock on Rocky Top at the picturesque Knoxville Dragway.
