Persistent rain and unsafe racing conditions brought a premature and unprecedented end to the 2025 In-N-Out Burger NHRA Finals, as NHRA officials were forced on Sunday to cancel the event after multiple days of adverse weather at In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip.

Despite exhaustive efforts from the NHRA Safety Safari and ongoing evaluations with track and safety personnel, standing water and continued precipitation made it impossible to complete the season-ending race.

With no further on-track competition possible, the remaining 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series world championships were awarded based on current points standings. Austin Prock secured his second consecutive Funny Car world title, capping a season marked by consistency and performance. In Pro Stock, Dallas Glenn locked up his first career world championship, while Richard Gadson claimed the Pro Stock Motorcycle crown — also his first.

Top Fuel champion Doug Kalitta had already clinched his second career title on Saturday prior to the official cancellation.

In the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, the lone championship still undecided heading into Sunday, Top Alcohol Dragster, was also determined by season points, giving Shawn Cowie his second straight title.

“While we explored every possible option to complete the event this weekend, the safety of our competitors, teams and fans remains the highest priority,” NHRA President Glen Cromwell said. “We thank the incredible NHRA community — and especially the fans for braving the elements — for their unwavering support throughout this challenging weekend and during an unforgettable 2025 season.”

The cancellation marks a rare and historic end to the NHRA season, concluding a year of standout performances, tight championship battles, and the continued growth of the Mission Foods Drag Racing Series.
