Ida Zetterström, driver of the JCM Racing Top Fuel Dragster, is gearing up for her first career appearance at the prestigious Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals at the iconic In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip, marking the 65th running of this storied event.
Zetterström enters Pomona determined to capitalize on recent momentum and valuable insights gained during her previous outing at the Arizona Nationals in Phoenix. Despite a first-round exit against Justin Ashley, Zetterström and the JCM Racing team made critical advancements in performance and qualified ninth, an improvement from their Gainesville showing.
“We’re excited to head to Pomona with a good weekend behind us,” said Zetterström. “Even though we had an early exit last week, we learned a lot, and we found some of the progress that we were looking for. Pomona last year was where we set our best speed and E.T. that we still keep to this day. We’re looking forward to heading back to that track and hopefully have great track conditions where we could better both our speed and E.T. this weekend.”
Zetterström’s previous visit to Pomona Dragstrip (Pomona 2, 2024) saw her clock career-best performance figures, achieving an elapsed time of 3.738 seconds and a speed of 334.32 mph. She aims to surpass these numbers during the upcoming Winternationals.
“We qualified ninth in Phoenix, which was higher than we did in Gainesville, but we are looking to go even higher now, and we want to see ourselves in the top eight and turn on some win lights on Sunday,” Zetterström added.
Fans can catch Ida Zetterström and the JCM Racing Top Fuel Dragster team in action at the 65th annual Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals at In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip, March 28-30, 2025.
